How I came into coaching and healing using NLP

Updated: Oct 10, 2023

So let me tell you a little story of a woman who was “gatvol” (extremely tired)

I came into contact with NLP in the form of LAB (language and behavior) profiling some 10+ years ago and it intrigued me as I was always interested in human behaviour. At this time I was working in a corporate company; managing, and training...

That was then, now fast forward almost a decade later. So I was full on in my journey of self discovery aka shadow work and was trying to figure out the simplest ways to achieve the best results, human behavior wise.

My grounding in spirituality was already deep, having been on the Sufi spiritual path since the age of 23 (I’m now 40, yes, I look half my age). So inner work and self development was a way of life for me, as the Sufi path is an ongoing journey of self discovery and inner work through God Consciousness and Divine Love.

I was asking for guidance and had this huge desire to study NLP. It was an overwhelming urge, so I reached out and became a NLP practitioner because this would help me to transition my years of expertise in training, development and coaching in the corporate sphere, into entrepreneurship.

NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming, simply put it’s about one’s language, who your brain works and the programs it follows.

What I came into my awareness was quite interesting.

My spirituality took the front seat during my NLP training, everything else was peripheral. Overcoming blocks became easier, identifying patterns came with ease, being in alignment with the Almighty was a norm.

It didn’t teach me spirituality, NLP assisted me to move even quicker through the blocks in order to fully be my Divine self.

In Islamic Sufi terms, I liken it to tazkiyyah or the knowledge and purification of the nafs (ego). It allows me to transcend trauma, moved into difficult emotions and transmute limiting beliefs.

I see it as the knowledge of man and the states of the soul, from the soul inclined to doing evil to the enlightened soul and beyond.

I went on to further study and became a Master NLP Practitioner (advanced life coach and business consultant) two months after doing the NLP Practitioner course. That came through divine guidance, synchronicities and signs written in the sky (literally).

I was asking Allah for guidance, as I was quite perplexed and did not know what to do. I was on my home from work and as I was a driving I heard an ad on the radio and it said "Bali". I piqued my interested because the masters course would be taking place in Bali, so that was my first sign. But I wanted more, my heart wasn't at ease yet. So I asked for more....

As I was driving further along, now stuck in traffic, I looked down at my phone and saw a post on Instagram telling me "Pay attention to the signs the Universe is giving you. Its trying to tell you something."

I immediately looked up and saw a small plane flying directly above me with a banner. My coach had just rebranded her business and the banner had the same name, giving me the sign I needed and answers I was asking for!

Synchronicities are the Almighty’s way of guiding us. “For those who reflect, Allah is everywhere”

“I am as My servant thinks I am”, so beliefs about the Almighty are correlated to our beliefs about ourselves. Having a good opinion of the Almighty, means having a good opinion of yourself.

It's all in the Mindset and Belief

I teach alchemy because its the ability to recognize the oneness in the separateness, to see the signs in ways that's easy for you to understand. Alchemy is the act of inner transformation, the transmutation of limitations and beliefs and to become your most soul conscious self.

And that's how it all began....
